According to Dalai Lama The 14th, whose actual name is Tenzin Gyatso, these qualities Buddha appreciated is the reason why there is no fundamentalists or extremists among Buddhists. He made these statements at a speech themed "Religions and Violence" to philosophy scholars in Milano on his most recent visit.
The Dalai Lama also said that most religions however teaches values of love, compassion, tolerance but people often focus on the versus that can be manipulated. He argued that if people following other faiths only focus on the teachings that promote love and compassion, instead of hate and vengeance the world could be united.
