2 weeks later it was revealed that the prince has left County in his own privet jet. It was not reported however whether that was based on diplomatic immunity or any other diplomatic pardon.

The offense is a serious crime that will usually result in 3 year jail time and 10 year probation period.  However, big money and oil can earn you pardon anywhere in the world. The below extract of how CNN reported the incident in its online edition on the day the incident was first reported.

A Saudi prince has been arrested in Los Angeles on charges of sexual assault, false imprisonment and battery.
Prince Majed Abdulaziz Al-Saud is accused of trying to force a woman to perform a sex act on him, Los Angeles police Officer Drake Madison said.
Police were called to a home in the city on Wednesday afternoon, where they interviewed numerous people.
Saud has been released on $300,000 bail and is set to appear in court on October 19.
It's unclear whether Saud has diplomatic immunity. CNN left a message at the Saudi Embassy in Washington but has as yet received no response.
